About Minbar

The Minbar Initiative operates as a not-for-profit entity that seeks to provide technical assistance to both state and non-state actors in Somalia, to resolve the most complex challenges of state building in the country's reconstruction phase.

The Minbar Initiative, whose head office is in Mogadishu, in the Federal Government of Somalia, has been in existence since 2021, having been registered by the Ministry of Interior and Federal Affairs. The organization operates in the whole of Somalia,

The programmes and projects that Minbar Initiative engages in exist at the intersection of state and non-state actors, especially in the areas of civic engagement, where the work to conscientize citizens works as a means of catalysing the government to deliver essential services to the citizenry .

The Minbar Initiative intends to elevate the Office of the Citizen to its rightful place and seed new, homegrown narrative and solutions to develop a country that is cohesive and one which embraces shared prosperity as a step to a more inclusive, democratic and equitable society.
